Stretch goal #1 unlocked!

WE DID IT! $50,000 raised thanks to your astounding support. Mate Black Switch Bot is unlocked.

Again, 3 good news for you!

1. As announced in the last update, we will unlock one more color Kickstarter Green as one of the Stretch goal #2 when $100,000 reached. And what’s more, we will add Beacon function to the stretch goal #2.  

What is Beacon function? Let me give a brief introduction. So far, we know Switch Bot is a perfect actuator. Now Beacon function extends it to be as a proximity sensor and trigger, i.e. you can see some magic happen when you are near a Switch Bot. Some basic scenarios for your reference:  

i. Switch Bot can turn on your light when you are back home without the help of Switch Link, and even without taking out your smartphone.  

ii. Get reminders or messages on your smartphone pushed by Switch Bot. Imagine this tiny buddy reminds you taking keys when you are at the door.  

iii. Send out IFTTT trigger messages when you are in the region of a Switch Bot.  

iv. An Indoor positioning system can be set up if more than 3 Bots are placed. Fantastic! Isn’t it?

2. Some backers told us that their parents or children do not know how to use smartphone. We heard that and this is not a problem anymore. Let me introduce a new product Switch Button – a shortcut to control Switch Bot and other smart devices. Please find the demo video below:

You can pair this button to any Switch Bot in our App and further you can set it up to trigger other devices via IFTTT.

Stick this to your bed and leave your phone away. :)

Hey backers, 

With three weeks remaining, our campaign has raised over 10X of our funding goal. Thank you! 

Now I have 3 good news for you! 

1. Mate Black Switch Bot has been voted as our first stretch goal! Congratulations to guys who voted black! For others, do not feel disappointed, since the voting will continue! We will unlock one more color every $50k funding reached. For example when $50k is raised we will unlock the black color, meanwhile select the next top voted color as the $100k color stretch goal. Please be assured that other stretch goals will run in parallel, which will be announced later. 

2. Many backers have the question whether we can control each wall switch on and off by only one Switch Bot. The answer is YES! We heard you, and we are offering a solution without any additional cost. Please check our demo video here or below.

A transparent line connecting the robot arm and the white sticker on the switch allows one Switch Bot push and pull the switch itself. This optional accessory (sticker and line) is very easy to install and will be shipped with your Switch Bots for free! 

3. We all know that the campaign is yet finished and it’s very risky to start the production now. However, we believe that you, our backers, will keep supporting us and we feel responsible to leave enough buffer time before shipment. THE PRODUCTION HAS BEEN STARTED THIS WEEK! Thanks to YOU we were able to hit our goal in less than 26 hours! But we're not done yet. With 32 days left, we have big plans for our campaign.

Yes, apart from the official Apps which are already in Apple App Store and Google Play, you can talk with your bots by our OPEN APIs. Enjoy integrating Switch Bots and Switch links to your own DIY home automation system seamlessly! We will release the APIs and tutorials later, so let's rock together!
